Limo Liberals Save The World

Hello again everyone.

If you are reading this blog it must mean you have really poor taste. Or perhaps my ever so brief attack on George W. Bush made you think I’m on the Liberal side and have come back craving for more.

Oh noooooo!

Go back to my first post; I hold both sides with equal disdain and allow me to irritate someone to prove my point.

Clooney: Cast raises millions for Darfur

Thank God another celebrity has come to the aid of the poor. But ask me this question. Why do the Liberals want to save the world with other people’s money?

All these limo liberals seem to spend their days criticizing the Right, blaming the poor’s ills on the Republicans and yet instead of offering their own vast fortunes to give to the poor, the Liberals raise funds. So many fundraisers and yet so many of these L.L.’s prefer to keep the money they earned in the family.

Isn’t that what the Republicans say and yet they are lambasted and ostracized and burned at the stake for such behaviour. I don’t like the Republicans anymore than I like the Liberals. I have an intense hatred for (most of) the ideals of the Republicans, but I can at least respect their stance. They are greedy bastards who want to keep a social class system alive to give their meaningless lives a feeling of purpose. And they admit it! They don’t shy away from that life view! They are proud of it!

But the Liberals, what do they do? They claim to be the party of the people, that they are trying to help the poor. But I don’t see them offering their vast fortunes to the underclass. To the homeless or street kids or to the shelters.

I imagine that if every member of the Liberal party donated a single million dollars, we could eradicate the homeless. Buy them a nice apartment in one of those crack houses the owners hold onto hoping that some real estate project will make them more money. We could give them a bank account to get them back on their feet. We could do that. But we don’t! We could get every person in debt out of it. We could get food in the bellies of all the starving children of America. But we don’t!

Instead they hold fundraisers and get other people to give their money. And as for Clooney and Co?

I find it interesting that this story, on the following link, does not give too many details about who gave what. There’s a lot of why, of course there’s a lot of why. 2.5 million Darfur civilians caught in the middle of another war started by someone other than themselves. That part is the tragedy.

But how-about all that money being donated. Who donated it? Clooney himself? The article states that the “Ocean Thirteen’s” stars had donated 5.5 million. Well let’s have some more details. A lot of people are in that movie. Is it their money or did they donate that money on someone else’s behalf? Did Brad Pitt sign a check? Scott Caan, Elliot Gould, Casey Affleck…?

The article also states that Clooney and Co. raised 9.3 million at a dinner “most of which was contributed at a dinner during the film’s premiere last month at the Cannes Film Festival.” Is that 9.3 million a part of the previous 5.5 or a separate amount? Is the total 9.3 or 14.8 million? Who gave that money? I’m guessing George and Brad smiled and then got some old rich European aristocrats to fork over the cash.

Now I’m a reasonably charitable person, I don’t mind the idea of giving to the poor. I try to help when I can. But the truth of the matter is, I am one of the lower-class. As of this blog I have 2500.00 in my account. Like I said a few paragraphs before, if all the rich people wanted to change things, they could save everyone. But no one wants to really give their money to the poor. Liberals don’t want to give away their money anymore than Republicans do, but the Liberals do it if some actor or singer or whoever asks them to.

Does that make the Liberals better than the GOP? I don’t think so.

It makes them hypocrites. If all these 20 million-dollar-a-movie actors want to make a difference, have them give all their wealth (leaving themselves a couple million so they can eat) to the poor. Come on, how much money do you really need? Gene Simmons, as much as I love ya, you have enough wealth so that you’ll never be poor again. Get over that childhood trauma and lend a helping hand.

Note to Hollywood - If you decide your “celebrity” is better used to make other people give money then I make a little suggestion. Tell all your Liberal friends to stop attacking the Republicans for being greedy misers who have no souls because you are no f**king better!

If George Clooney really wanted to help those poor Darfur innocents, he’d take all that cash he’s earned, buy an island somewhere and relocate the civilians to a safer place. Instead of using that Liberal guilt to make other rich people hand over their wallets.

The main difference between the Liberals and the Republicans are; Liberals feel bad about being rich and the Republicans don’t. If the Liberals are going to feel so bad about it, well keep a million of your earnings and donate the rest to charity. If you do, maybe the Republicans will follow by your great example.

I bid adieu.

your Origami reporter,
L.Manly
