Inconvenient to the rich, convenient for the poor
Global warming…
That scary little thing which will have us living in Waterworld or The Day After Tomorrow if we don’t follow the example of Albert Arnold Gore Jr..
Let me tell you this, I do believe in the possibility of Global warming. I do believe that if it does exist we should do something about it. And I am a little concerned that we may end up living in a world which resembles the pre-mentioned Dennis Quaid movie which had really fake looking CGI wolves.
But I’m not going to do anything about it. I AM NOT!!
“Why not,” you may ask.
I won’t do my part, because my part is so insignificant that I will not make a difference. The energy I consume does not compare to the amounts of waste that my favorite limo liberals, former Vice-Presidents and super-rich use for their own purposes.
But as is always the case with the world, we of the lower rungs are expected to assume the brunt of the work. Nothing has changed since mankind became civilized. The actual workers of this world, those who perform the real tasks, those who really manufacture and build the tools, are the ones who are blamed for society’s ills.
We are the ones who are taxed. We are the ones who struggle. We are the ones looking inside from the outside. And so all this recycling and energy conversation is up to us?
F**K THAT!!
Let me share with you some tidbits I have found on the web in this regard;
“Al Gore, who has a mansion in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, has rejected a senator’s request that he take a pledge to use no more energy than the average American. “
That is from the following link, a news article about Gore’s total hypocrisy. It seems Big Al wants us to tighten our belts but his ever-growing girth is allowed to breathe. It seems that the former vice president’s home uses more electricity each month than the average American household uses in an entire year. Or so says the Tennessee Center for Policy Research from the Nashville Electric Service.
“The request was put to Gore by Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., who is the ranking member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, during a congressional hearing this week at which Gore was asking Congress to impose new taxes to address global warming.”
I freely admit I never saw An Inconvenient Truth, but I hear that Gore asked us: “Are you ready to change the way you live?”
Funny he should say that when last August, according to the aforementioned group, Gore burned through 22,619 kilowatt-hours of electricity, more than twice the amount in one month that an average American family uses in an entire year.
“Gore’s average monthly electric bill, the think tank says, is $1,359.
Responding to critics, Gore has described the lifestyle he and his wife Tipper live as ‘carbon neutral,’ meaning he tries to offset any energy usage, including plane flights and car trips, by ‘purchasing verifiable reductions in CO2 elsewhere.’”
Wow, it’s nice to see that he’s changing the way he lives. I’m going to take a leap of faith and say that he must have spent at least $4,000 on electricity for the previous August.
Or maybe not.
I guess I should not be surprised. We poor have to do all the work despite we are not even the strongest contributer to the problem. For example I got this little tidbit from off the web;
“Private planes, take for instance your typical commercial jet, a Boeing 737, well, it seats a maximum of 189 people, it burns 800 gallons of fuel per hour and emits 16,880 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour in the air. Now take a Gulfstream 400, one of the more common brands of private jet. Well, it seats a maximum of only 19 people, it burns 415 gallons of fuel an hour and emits 8,785 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour. That means per passenger a Boeing 737 emits 89 pounds of carbon dioxide an hour while Gulfstream and similar private jets emit 462 pounds of carbon dioxide per passenger per hour.”
Geez, my crappy little Pontiac Grand Am seats four and emits, by my rough calculations, about 20-25 pounds of carbon dioxide a day. I see why it’s the responsibility of all of us without a private jet. It’s such a f**king crock and Al Gore and all the other environmentalists of the world are fake and hypocrites and I’m just tired of their moralizing when they are not willing to change for OUR own good.
I bid adieu.
