A Rosie Kind of Research

Ms. Misunderestimated bitch slapped Rosie into next week by pointing out how the Great Ro failed to do some much-needed research before opening her trap (again.) Rosie came up with this brilliantly lame poem-esque entry describing President Bush’s commutation of Scooter Libby’s sentence:

only commutation
of obstruction of justice sentence
by a president
ever

so basically
they can do whatever they want
blatant disregard
for everything our country is about

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketThere was a time America was “about” democracy, then San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom decided that even though that city had voted against gay marriage, he was going to ignore the will of the people and marry gays, anyway. Rosie and her partner, Kelli Carpenter, toddled their butts right up to San Francisco to take part in this illegal, “blatant disregard for everything our country is about.”

Need we remind Rosie that her former boyfriend-in-chief Slick Willie actually was the person to bring us the Defense of Marriage Act recognizing marriage as between one man and one woman?

As for Rosie’s firm belief in democracy, on January 5 2007, she postulated on The View her own idea of a person overthrowing the will of the people:

“Someone, I believe, should call for the impeachment of George Bush [so] the world knows that the nation is not standing behind this President’s choices, that the nation, a democracy, feels differently than the man who is leading as if it were a dictatorship, and that we represent this country, he does not lead as a monarch.”

Sooo, it’s not right for President Bush to go over the people’s heads (in Rosie’s view), but it was ok for Mayor Newsom to go over the people’s heads and break the law when it was an issue to personally benefit Rosie. Yep. Lovely definition and support of democracy there, O’Donnell.

When AlGore was on Rosie’s old talk show in October, 2000, she had this to say about the Clinton/Gore years:

“A lot has been said about what’s been done in the last eight years. A lot of good if you ask me…I definitely think the last eight years the country has been a much better place than it had been in a long time.”

In February, 2004, Rosie talked with Diane Sawyer. According to The Full Rosie,

O’Donnell charged that President Bush’s comments in support of a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman, were “the most vile and hateful words ever spoken by a sitting President, in my opinion. I am stunned and I’m horrified.” Told by Sawyer that the First Lady noted how “same-sex marriage is a very, very shocking issue for some people,” O’Donnell called the amendment “shocking and immoral.”

So where was Rosie when Bill Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act on September 21, 1996? Wasn’t this one of the “good” things Clinton did that made the USA a “better place”?

I won’t even go into the whole Rosie is against guns but has armed bodyguards protecting her kids thing.

Can we make a deal here? We Liberals won’t hit you over the head with Rush “Send Illegal Drug Users Straight to Jail, But Hand Me
Another Vicodin” Limbaugh, if you won’t bring up Rosie. She makes us even contemplate putting Bush bumper stickers on our cars so as not to be thought to share any of her opinions. (But then our cars are mostly energy-efficient Priuses, so no one would believe we were Republicans.)

Hahaha!:) Hey I could use a liberal blogger here as I wanted to have more of a spectrum of opinion (and obviously I’m way too biased to provide that myself). Would you be interested in blogging here on occasion or know anyone of the Liberal persuasion who might?
