Hello everyone,
I really enjoyed that little blog in which I quickly perused through a series of articles and so I decided to do it again. Here we go!
GOP SENATORS OFFER NEW TIMELINE FOR IRAQ
By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - A small group of Republicans facing election fights next year have rallied around war legislation they think could unite the GOP: Call for an end to U.S. combat in Iraq, but wait until President Bush is almost out of office.
The Democrats on Friday deemed the legislation a nonstarter, and underscored the difficulty Congress has in striking a bipartisan compromise on the war. What attracts Democrats has repelled Republicans and vice versa, making it impossible so far to find a middle ground.
Well, well, well. The rats are leaving the sinking ship? You know that doesn’t surprise me. I’ve been waiting for this moment since Hilary and Obama announced they were running for President. Liberals are in an upswing and the Republicans are running for cover.
So? Any bets on how long until a Liberal sex scandal causes a shift in the polls?

STRANGER POSTED BOND FOR ONE OF ‘JENA 6′
By MICHAEL KUNZELMAN, Associated Press Writer
NEW ORLEANS - When a 17-year-old at the center of a civil rights controversy in a small Louisiana town left jail, he had a stranger to thank.
Dr. Stephen Ayers, who lives about 135 miles away, said he felt compelled to help the family of Mychal Bell by posting the teen’s bond and allowing him to go home for the first time in 10 months.
Ayers, 42, of Lake Charles in southwestern Louisiana, said Friday that he isn’t politically active and isn’t usually one to “get into things like this.” But then a patient whose feet hurt after the march gave him a report on the event, in which Ayers did not participate.
“I was concerned about what was going on up there and thought the district attorney was a bit harsh in his treatment of Mr. Bell,” said Ayers, who is black but added that his race was not his motivation. “I really thought it was overkill.”
Is it wrong of me to think that race did factor in Dr. Ayers’ motivation? I don’t think so. This case is all about race and not the abuse of one race on another either. It’s about African-Americans using the guilt of our past to continue to extort the whites.
Personally I’d like to see the district attorney to keep his balls, but I figure sooner or later he’ll break like a skiier’s leg.
Onto the next story!
Uncle Kracker pleads guilty to assault
RALEIGH, N.C. - Uncle Kracker pleaded guilty Friday to a misdemeanor assault charge in an incident last month at a Raleigh nightclub.
A Wake County judge sentenced the singer, whose real name is Matthew Shafer, to 12 months’ probation, fined him $1,500 and ordered him to undergo an alcohol assessment.
Assistant District Attorney Adam Moyers said Shafer put his hand up a woman’s skirt at the nightclub. The 26-year-old woman slapped Shafer, and he slapped her back, Moyers said.
The woman later reported the incident to an off-duty police officer.
Shafer, a 33-year-old Michigan native, is a former disc jockey for Kid Rock. His hits include a duet with Kenny Chesney, “When the Sun Goes Down.”
So a white man is arrested and Rev. Al Sharpton doesn’t come running? No million man march for the Uncle? Where is the justice in that? Ahhh, who cares? It’s all bulls**t anyway. As for you Matthew, you deserved that slap and I hope you actually go to jail for hitting a woman. Loser.
Final story.
KEY NATIONS AGREE TO DELAY IRAN ACTION
By EDITH M. LEDERER and MATTHEW LEE, Associated Press Writers
NEW YORK - Six key nations and the European Union agreed Friday to delay until November a new U.N. resolution that would toughen sanctions against Iran, waiting to see if Tehran answers questions about its disputed nuclear program.
A joint statement from the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany with E.U. support said they would finalize the new resolution and bring it to a vote unless reports in November from the chief U.N. nuclear official and the European Union’s foreign policy chief “show a positive outcome of their efforts.”
So they want Iran to explain itself? Seems like a smart political move. Didn’t some nations try this once before with Nazi Germany? Yeah, now I remember. World War II was the end result wasn’t it? Giving Adolph the benefit of the doubt seemed to work so well that time. Maybe it will work as well.
I guess that’s all. Until next time ladies and gentlemen.
I bid adieu,
your Origami reporter,
