Legit Online Jobs for Stay At Home Moms

Everyone’s looking for a nice stay-at-home job where they can be close to their kids and still earn some extra
dinero. The cost of living is just going sky-high now, and it seems we can’t even afford to be Moms anymore! I’ve
compiled a few job listings for those who are on the lookout for something they can do from home. I make no
guarantees as the info could have changed since I put it all together, so please inquire with each company to see
what they need.

These are all legit jobs, by that I mean they will pay you an actual check, do not charge you to work for them, you
don’t have to buy any “kits” or anything to start (except in one case you need a headset but I think they reimburse
for it since it’s phone work), and they’re not multi level marketing (like AVON, Mary Kay, Amway etc.) or home
parties (like Pampered Chef etc.). Some are employment and some are contract. If you work as an independent
contractor, remember that you must take care of your own taxes and file a Schedule C (if you’re in the USA) at tax
time, depending on how much you made for the year.

As an independent contractor, the company also can not tell you HOW to do the job or when. There can be so strictly
set hours etc. or it is considered an employment situation. Be aware of these distinctions when taking on contract
work. Contract work does not take out taxes from the paycheck for you, so make sure you hold onto that money to pay
your taxes each year (or each quarter, however you want to do it.

If you know of any legit jobs online (no multi level marketing/sales please!) please let me know.

Good luck!

Community Moderation:

WebLab.com — this paid per project and was contract, an average of
$300 a week to report on online discussion groups. I don’t know what
kind of projects they have going on, but I do know they have hired
people who have inquired whether there were jobs and they just put
them on an upcoming project. They are also nice people to work with
and pay well considering how much work you’re putting in (I think it
was like 10 or 20 hours a week.)

Liveworld.com — online board and chat moderation paying $7.50 an hour. This is employment but contract if you’re in Canada. No raises, no bonuses, no health insurance. A good job if you have something else besides. Reading message boards and moderating chats, you don’t have to sell anything. Very flexible scheduling. Not sure if they’re hiring right now but you can check.

Also go to
http://Onlinecommunityreport.com for leads in content moderation jobs. Stay away from anything that says volunteer.

Sulake.com/HabboHotel

They only hire people in certain states etc. so you have to inquire as to what they need. Check out the website as it’s about moderating live interactive chat/community environment. Contact:becs@sulake.com (I know she needs people in Canada so if you’re Canadian definitely write to her.)

Quality Assurance/Research:

Google.com

They look for”Quality Raters” quite often and you have just keep checking in to see where they want people next. The first year I worked for them I was paid $20 an hour and there is a mandatory 3 month hiatus in between but you can reapply and work another year (2 years max). The second year I got $15 an hour because they went through a different company. This is an employment position with the staffing company but a contract with Google So you’re working for WFL, contracting on Google. Confusing but they payswiftly and weekly. the job itself is a LOT of reading and analyzing so it’s challenging and you need to pay attention to detail and be web savvy but if you get it, this job rocks. They usually start you on 10 hours a week min, and I was offered up to 40 a week.

If you are offered the 40, you are eligible for health benefits etc. if you maintain a certain average number of hours. If they need English Ad Quality Raters or Quality Raters they usually post it on their http://www.google.com/support/jobs

This one is worth it if you can get it. Keep an eye out for the openings. they only let raters work a max of two years, so they make sure to keep their people rotating so they will always need newbies.

Surveys

Pierce-Eislen — contract job calling apartment complexes and gathering info such as amenities,
rents, specials, etc. Pays $11 an hour plus .25 cent per property bonuses depending on how many surveys you
complete each hour.
Contact Donna feldman dfeldman@pi-ei.com
(let her know when you’re available etc. and include your resume if you have one.)
You don’t have to sell for this, and it’s ok to have dogs or kids in the background because they want you to pose
as an average apartment hunter. Just ask lots of questions and fill in the form they give you.
It’s EASY work. PE also does these for 6 weeks at a time, 3 times a year.
I know at least 3 people working for them and I have seen people return from one stint to do it again.
So it ’s something nice to have just in case.

Brring! Get Calls, Get Cash!

Phone stuff:

If you don’t mind taking customer service phone calls from home, you may want to apply with
AlpineAccess.com. They pay I believe somewhere from $8 and hour and up depending on the client/project.
You need to have or buy a landline phone with compatible headset, though. I think they
reimburse for the headset. Training is also paid at about a dollar less per hour than the actual job.
It ’s from home but you usually have to have things QUIET so if you already have kids, you
may not want to do this one. They also give you an online quiz and you have to do a longish
phone interview. http://www.alpineaccess.com/external/index.html
Finally, these sites are invaluable for leads and information on work at home jobs. Some will be sales
stuff, some not, some contract, some not, but you can find out about them and see what might suit you.
The people are nice and helpful there, too.

If you ‘re into blogging and want to make some money with Google Adsense and other type stuff, I have a blog and I’ve made over $100 off of it since I started it a few months ago. It ’s not “get rich quick” but it is fun and you get a little money coming in.
