A letter to Sean Hannity
These are excerpts of a letter I sent to Sean Hannity at his website.
Dear Mr. Hannity,
This may be a lengthy email, but I’ll try and get to the point. I have something to say in regards to the upcoming election. I make this pledge to you now I will not be voting for John McCain and there’s nothing you, or anyone else can say to change my mind.
First I shall state that I’ve been listening to your and your conservative compatriots far more than I had just a few years ago. As is often the case I was more liberal in my youth, but I’ve had a revelation these past couple years, I’m growing more conservative. Even though in the back of my mind I sensed such discord coming from the left, I couldn’t come to the obvious conclusion.
Liberals don’t believe in Freedom of Speech, they believe in Freedom of Their Speech. As Mr. Limbaugh has pointed out on occasion, the left will gladly destroy someone who opposes them. I’ll admit I bought into the silly conspiracy theories about George Bush stealing the election from Al Gore, but I know now that Republicans don’t or wouldn’t do that. Republicans strive on the challenge, the love of the game so to speak Where as Liberals would rather fix the game to their advantage. Liberal policy is the equivalent to the cheat codes one finds on the computer for their favorite game.
I hate Obama with a passion and never would support him for any reason. All through the primaries I noticed how the liberal media had decided that they wanted a black president rather than a woman president. I hate being told what to do and so I threw all my support behind the “Dragon Lady” as I call her and watched the melee. In the beginning I did like Obama since I thought he was for real. But as I watched Hillary continue to fight on and how he and everyone else reacted, the shine began to fade on Mr. Obama.
Then he won the primary and was the candidate.
Then his past finally came to light. My mother-in-law likes to say that secrets always come out in the end. Obama’s did for sure; Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, this tape the Los Angeles Times won’t release. This report I’m hearing about Obama is not even a legal citizen of this country. What’s your take on that by the way? It would seem to be a good angle on stopping the Obama Express if by law he couldn’t run. But a part of me would see that as stooping to their level.
His belief that we should spread the wealth would actually work to my advantage…but I don’t want the money of someone who’s earned it. I shouldn’t have a few bucks of your hard earned cash. It’s certainly not fair to you, maybe all those stupid Hollywood types would feel the same way if they realized when Obama means the wealthy, he means them too.
This business about Joe the Plumber just goes to show you how dangerous the left is. Some average man challenges Obama and what do they do, send out the attack dogs! In an effort to silence him, they look up every dirty little secret he may have. Have they no shame?
It’s scary and truly sad that the media won’t report on any of it. Are they that blind that they throw away unbiased journalism to support a candidate simply because they live by the same philosophy? Have they no self-respect? Have they no integrity? I didn’t enjoy the reign of George W. Bush as much as the next (left) guy, but to blindly follow a man with no scruples like Obama won’t fix the problem.
I’m glad that FOX news, and conservative talk radio exists since that you’ll have to ask the questions that they won’t. Obama must be asked these questions, he must be scrutinized, he must be challenged, he’s running for the position of President of United States and not manager of the local Blockbuster. The media certainly has been asking McCain what are his qualifications and how they’ve been treating Gov. Palin is atrocious.
It’s a sad business all of this. It’s why I had left the left a long time ago, though I haven’t moved to the right for fundamental reasons we don’t share. I am what you’d call a Libertarian, but I don’t even like that term because it makes it sound like I’m more left than right. I therefore have come up with a new term and I’m quite proud of it.
I’m a Repubitarian.
Back to my earlier statement, I won’t be voting for McCain and there’s nothing you can do to convince me otherwise. Why would I say that? You know my feelings about Obama and my current political views. You’ve read the disgust in this email about how things are. “Why”, you may be asking.
Why vote for Obama?
Well the fact of the matter is this:
I’m voting for neither of them.
In conclusion Mr. Hannity I wanted to show you how the left is, I changed the rules on you to suit my needs and my conclusions. I gave you only the information I thought you needed to know to give you a hopeless fight.
I enjoy your show, don’t give up the fight or your principles, keep asking questions and maybe someone will answer them one day.
I bid adieu,
your Origami reporter,
L.Manly
