Gay Activists Wake Up and Smell the O

Gay activists feel betrayed by Obama’s choice of Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church as the person to give his inaugural invocation.

The editor of the Washington Blade, Kevin Naff, called the choice “Obama’s first big mistake.”

“His presence on the inauguration stand is a slap in the faces of the millions of GLBT voters who so enthusiastically supported him,” Naff wrote, referring to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people. “This tone-deafness to our concerns must not be tolerated. We have just endured eight years of endless assaults on our dignity and equality from a president beholden to bigoted conservative Christians. The election was supposed to have ended that era. It appears otherwise.”

The election was supposed to have ushered in a new era where everyone panders to gay activists? What about the fact that CA approved Prop 8 by a majority of the voting public? We’re told to accept that Obama won the general election but the Prop 8 opposers can’t seem to just accept it that the majority of their state doesn’t want gay marriage. I guess they were mistaken when they thought they had it locked. Also, their support of Obama seems that it wasn’t because of what Obama stands for or who Obama is, but what he can GIVE THEM.  Obama is out for himself, and soon the gay activists and all those who voted for him will figure this out.
